Ronald Harte Antiques is worth the drive: you’ll want your SUV!

Deer Isle and Stonington are bedecked with antique shops, galleries, and craftspeople which is hardly surprising given the renowned Haystack Mountain School of Crafts located on Deer Isle. It’s well worth the drive to discover new art, jewelry, or antiques new-to-you while enjoying quintessentially Maine Downeast scenery along the way. It’s also not surprising that Ronald Harte Antiques enjoys 5-star reviews when you enter his space which is carefully curated and welcoming. It’s hard to do both well and yet he does.
If I had buckets of money and multiple properties to fill, I could probably find a space for every painting, print, objet d’art, photograph, and piece of furniture found in his lovely shop. Until then, I will follow him on Instagram, and purchase a humble item or three every spring, summer, and fall. Speaking of seasons, in fall and winter, he closes shop in Deer Isle and is available by appointment.
By the bye, Ronald Harte Antiques can also be found in Ellsworth at the Old Creamery Antique Mall. It's a much smaller collection than what can be found on Deer Isle, but it is every bit as spectacular!
